Accuracy is central to what Varsity.ng does. This policy explains how we verify information and how you can help us correct it when something changes.
Our verification approach
For every university profile, cut-off mark, and course listing, we follow a multi-source methodology:
- Primary source — the official university website is checked first for admission requirements, cut-off marks, and course offerings
- Cross-checking — we compare against JAMB’s official brochure, NUC announcements, and myschool.ng, since official university sites don’t always reflect newly approved courses or policy changes right away
- Recency check — we look for recent press coverage or official statements that might supersede older published figures
- Flagging uncertainty — where sources disagree, or a figure could not be confirmed on the official site, we note this rather than presenting it as fully verified
What we verify
- University-specific cut-off marks (JAMB and Post-UTME)
- Admission requirements (O’Level subjects, UTME subject combinations)
- Available courses and accreditation status
- Application deadlines and portal links
- Institutional details (location, type, official website)
Limitations
Admission policies can change quickly, sometimes mid-cycle. Despite our process, information may occasionally be outdated by the time you view it. Always confirm critical details — especially cut-off marks and deadlines — directly with the university or JAMB before applying.
