Sokoto State University (SSU), Sokoto has commenced its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) online screening for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Candidates who selected SSU as their first-choice institution and meet the required admission criteria can now complete the online screening through the university’s admission portal.
The online screening began on Tuesday, 11 August 2026. The general UTME cut-off mark is 150, while some competitive programmes require higher scores. The screening fee is ₦2,000, and there will be no Post-UTME examination.

Who Can Apply for SSU Post-UTME 2026/2027?
To be eligible for the screening exercise, UTME candidates must:
- Choose Sokoto State University as their first-choice institution.
- Participate in the 2026 UTME.
- Score at least 150 or meet the cut-off mark for their chosen course.
- Upload their O’Level results to JAMB CAPS.
Both UTME and Direct Entry applicants must also possess:
- At least five O’Level credit passes.
- Credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
- Results obtained in not more than two sittings.
Candidates whose O’Level results have not yet been uploaded to JAMB CAPS should visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre for the upload.
Direct Entry Requirements
Direct Entry candidates must upload scanned copies of their A’Level qualifications during registration.
Accepted qualifications include:
- Diploma
- NCE
- IJMB
- Other approved A’Level qualifications
The uploaded qualification must correspond with the one used for Direct Entry admission.

The university uses different cut-off marks based on Merit, Educationally Less Developed States (ELDS) and Catchment Areas.

Meaning of Merit, ELDS and Catchment
SSU classifies applicants into three admission categories.
- Merit: Candidates from states other than Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.
- ELDS: Candidates from Kebbi and Zamfara States.
- Catchment: Candidates from Sokoto State.
Applicants should confirm the applicable cut-off mark before submitting their application.

Visit the SSU application portal and enter your JAMB Registration Number.
The system will display your eligibility status and eligible course.

Click Apply Now to start your application.
Step 4: Sign In
Existing applicants can log in using:

- Registered email and password
Step 5: Create an Account
New applicants should:

- Provide a valid email address and phone number.
- Create a password.
- Verify the account using the code sent to their email.
Step 6: Pay the Screening Fee
After logging in:
- Click Proceed to Application Form.
- Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee.
- Note that transaction charges apply separately.
Once payment is confirmed, the application form becomes available.
Applicants can monitor payment status under the Transaction History section.
Step 7: Complete the Application Form
Fill in all required information carefully.
Click Preview & Submit to review your application.

If necessary, click Update Form to edit any incorrect information before final submission.
Step 9: Submit Your Application
After confirming all entries are correct, click Submit Form.
Only successfully submitted applications will be considered for admission.
